Hello, I’m Anna Nesterenko, a curator and multidisciplinary artist, originally from Ukraine and currently based in London. In my artistic practice, I combine both figurative and abstract approaches and I view art as a powerful vehicle for self-exploration and introspection. I'm interested in women's experience - lived, inherited, and mythologized. In many of my works, I explore its manifestations in life, history, and mythology. And through the interplay of colours, shapes, and textures, I delve deep into the realms of my own emotions, memories, and subconscious to gain it. The most important source of inspiration for me is human emotions, so I aim to depict them in my works and to cause them from viewers. So, I invite everyone to embark on their own personal journeys of exploration and interpretation.
My curatorial interests lie in the areas of contemporary conceptualism and activist art with the main focus on performances, installations, and films. I also have a particular interest in contemporary Eastern European and Asian art. I have experience of work in cultural institutions in the Netherlands, Norway, Germany and the UK. I am a Member of British Art Network.
