The Polytechnic Museum, founded in 1872, is one of the oldest science and technology museums in the world. The Museum aims to draw the audience's interest to knowledge and achievements of the human mind, inspire youth and support young professionals.
THE POLYTECHNIC MUSEUM
In March 2020, the continuation of the exhibition “Stories that were not” was open at the Museum of Moscow. The exhibition project is included in the program of the inclusive festival “Different people - a new museum”. This was the second part of the exhibition project created by the Polytech team. The exposition is based on very personal stories of people with different forms of disabilities about their relationship with Moscow.

This exhibition was opened in Ilyinsky Square in July. The exposition offers a closer look at the technologies that quietly make the life of the people comfortable. The city is a living, dynamically developing structure, which organically combines inventions of both recent years and the distant past. Five showcases in the Ilyinsky Square - five urban spaces in which people and different technologies interact. Large-format photographs draw attention to interesting details: variety of lighting, design and building materials, user-friendly digital assistants and much more. The museum helps to understand the principles of operation of various technological solutions, to consider them as mechanisms in which there are interacting parts.

Technologies in the city
For the Day of Russian Science, Polytech has prepared a Plus/Minus exhibition about famous Russian inventions. The scientific group of the Polytech has chosen five inventions related to temperature: fire and ice, snow and hot metal, warm house and the extreme North. One can speak about science not only in dry academic language. This time, at the street exhibition in Ilyinsky Square shows comics - the works of young Russian artists.
