Through vintage tourism posters, this exhibition offers a glimpse into a past that resonates with the present.

The posters encapsulate the allure of a nation poised to share its treasures with the world. Evocative in their design, they embody the spirit of exploration, and beckon their viewers to immerse themselves in the intricacies of each site's unique history and identity.

The exhibition showcases posters from the late 1930s to the late 1960s, drawn from private collections mainly in the UK. The posters are accompanied by signature objects from the Embassy collection that tell a story about the uniqueness of each Japanese region's tradition, culture, and tourism sites.

Pavilion: Is It Time to Think About Adulting Yet?

We are a group of humans in their late 20s to early 40s.
Most of us came to the world of modern art after getting a degree in a completely different field first.
And every one of us has at some point experienced this jarring feeling of "What am I, where am I, why am I choosing this unstable path of becoming an artist in these tumultuous times and why do I not feel like I am a fully mature person in the conventional sense?"
So here we are, posing this question: "Does adult life exist at all? Or is it merely a social construct that can be transformed?"
Each of us has been navigating these feelings for some time, and now we are on a journey exploring this together. We aim to end up with a multi-faceted project where each member of the group can share their side of the story.
We will use different mediums and narratives; some will concentrate on their inner self while others will invite the viewers to become active participants and share their own perceptions. Some projects will reflect on non-linearity of time by observing how clay sculptures disintegrate under the influence of natural elements, while others will encourage you to reflect upon the questions of life, ageing and mortality, and play mind games with yourself. Some of us will attempt to look at the concept of adulthood through a neurodivergent lens, while others will present a wimmelbuch-style story about the evolution of communication between artists into a super-organism.
We don't aim to solve the complex puzzle of finding the ultimate truth about adulthood. Rather, we want to create a safe space where anyone who struggles with similar worries can breathe out, find validation and support, and maybe – just maybe – be able to get in touch with their inner non-adult in a new way.

We are taking part in this year's KCAW with an exhibition at our gallery and online under their theme The Art Of Change: Original Vintage Art Deco Posters Art Deco is a style of visual arts, architecture and design that developed into an international design movement in the 1920s and 30s. Named after the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts held in Paris in 1925, Art Deco (French Arts Decoratifs) exerted its distinct style over the graphic arts in a manner that reveals the influence of its love for speed and adoration of the machine.
Art Deco has come to represent cosmopolitanism and the ultramodern. Echoes of this classic style can be seen in Mid-Century Modern and later designs, carrying forward the streamlined aesthetic and revisiting the clean simplicity of the Bauhaus. Art Deco inspired an array of objects from magazine covers and colourful posters to fashion and functional items including furniture, clocks, cars, trains and ocean liners, presenting them in a striking, futurist light. Art Deco posters remain highly sought after for their revolutionary airbrushing techniques and iconic designs.

OWE (One With Everything) is an art exhibition taking place over two weeks at Patriothall Gallery in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. Divided into two galleries, one devoted to solo work and one to collective work it displays visual and abstract canvases, prints, sculptures and an installation representing an existential inner journey of the artists, where unity is the destination, and totality is first fully embraced, and eventually discarded as the journey itself becomes the destination. The exhibition borrows concepts and metaphors from the Path of Liberation known as Mahamudra, and shares them using contemporary art language with the vibrant art scene in Edinburgh. It aims to encourage productive dialogue involving technology, spirituality, social and environmental impact and an opportunity for productive dialog and interaction.
